Tidepools

Tidepools 2023 is a publication of art, essays, fiction, and poetry by the MiraCosta community. Students, faculty, and staff reflected on the past year and shared their stories. As the Student Design Lead and Project Manager, I managed the design team's files and prepared the master file for print.

Essay Layouts

Within our team, we tackled the project by dividing into smaller groups for each category—mine being in Essays. We pulled inspiration from the cover, made by Scott Barrett, and used his assets and palette to maintain consistency while exploring various layouts.

The layouts went through a series of modifications for clear and consistent structure. Revisions included adjusting spacing, alignment, and font color.

Finalized pages of essays. Each had one of the three colors below, which corresponds to the colors of the cover.
